Hi,

I'm French and I don't read/write Russian at all. But I can read/write in English.
I take pictures of trains in France since many years. My web site is : http://www.photosdetrains.fr/

I will come in Moldova with a friend on first week of june. We want to take photos and videos of D1 trains. (Mainly not modernised D1...). My friend was already came in Moldova last year (his web site is http://trains-en-vadrouille.com/automot ... en-d1.html)

How many modernised D1 (D1M) will be in circulation in Moldova during first week of June ?
On which trains ? Only on 801, 802, 803 and 804 trains ?

All others trains will be still provided by non modernised D1 ?

Welcome aboard, Vincent
On early June will be circulating only one first (probably two if the second train will be ready).
You will see all another not modernized D1 trains. If you will have time maybe made a not long trip with them.

by june there should be 4 modernised D1M and 11 non-modernised D1 trains sets on moldavian rail tracks, but by the end of 2014 all 15 local trains should be modernised, so you better hurry.

Take a look here http://railway.md/ro/schedule/. Under 'categoria vagoanelor' you can see the non-modernised D1 as 'TD' trains and the modernised D1M ones under 'Modern'.

And yes: we will try to take time to do a little trip in D1 !

So there will be 4 D1M and 11 D1 in june: we should be able to make beautiful pictures of D1!

Currently there are only 2 D1M in Moldova ? When looking trains schedule there are D1M only on Chisinau - Ocnita trains 801 and 802 ?


Another question on a different topic: is there any regular freight trains that run during day in Moldova? Where can we find them? Is there freight trains schedule ?
(I don't know if my question is on right place on the forum....)

No. There is no REGULAR freight trains. But we will try to help you to see some freight trains.

We were in Moldova from May 27 to June 5. It's really a beautiful country and the people are really nice.
The trip was great even if the weather was not good every day.

We were lucky: we saw only two D1 modernized on the Chisinau-Ocniţa line! It was the D1M-001 and D1M-002.
All other regional trains ran with D1. We saw 13 different numbers of D1 (664, 694, 700, 708, 709, 736, 752, 753, 770, 772, 780, 798 and 800).

Is the D1 modernization program is late? They have problems?


Chisinau-Odessa train was always with a M62 !

We also saw few freight trains.

Here is a picture of a Bender-Chisinau train.

We also saw a "strange" train near Bumbata :




It's came from Ungheni in direction of Chișinău.

What is this car ?







And I've (again) three more questions !

We had waited at Ocnita for the Cernauti-Ocnita 610 train (and the Ocnita-Cernauti 609 train): but we never saw this train.
This train still exists ?


And we saw the Cahul-Basarabeasca 6276 train ! But this train is no more on schedule : http://www.railway.md/ro/schedule/
This train is not exists anymore ?



And my last question !!
We saw the Chișinău-Basarabeasca 6010 train: it was very beautiful !
It was composed by a 3TE10M with 3 cars and a D1 !
It always runs like that ?

This is a special wagon for precision measuring of the ways length.

About 3TE10M with D1 - if you have seen it on the Chisinau-Cainari section of route - it is normal - there are a very very hard part of railroad (one of the hardest on the territory of the whole ex USSR) with a lot of hard steep slopes and D1 can`t be used there without help.

The freight trains on this very hard part of railroad looks much more impressively - for each 4 fully loaded wagons - one section of 3TE10M, so the trains of 24 wagons can be trailed by 2 units of 3TE10M (6 sections in total). In this time i want to note the 3TE10M is one of the most powerful and in the same time one of the biggest locomotive in world - each section has 3,000 horse-powers (9000 in total).
